What can I do for shoulder keloids? Santa Monica Plastic Surgeon

What can I do for shoulder keloids?

Thick scars and keloids on the shoulders and arms can be a problem for both men and women.  The thickened scars are often classified as keloid scars and can present with varying degrees of pain and discomfort associated with darkening of the skin, thickening of the scar, and an overall discomfort.  Keloid scars on the shoulders and arms are less likely to be treated with surgery and are more likely to be treated with a combination of regimens including intralesional therapy, cryotherapy, pressure management, and laser.

Of the many treatments available, Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian, the expert on keloid surgery in Los Angeles and the United States, can help you manage your problem with maximal efficacy and minimal rates of recurrence.  Shoulder keloids are first managed with conservative measures, followed by a more aggressive keloid removal protocol. All keloid treatments should begin with application of the Plato's Scar Therapy Mini Kit which includes Plato's Scar Serum and Plato's Dark Scar Corrector.

Personal experiences with keloids are important and we work closely with our patients to facilitate the care of their keloids.  If you would like to read more about keloids, visit the following blog:
