Can a liposuction scar be placed in the belly button? Los Angeles board certified plastic surgeon

Can a liposuction scar be placed in the bellybutton?

The bellybutton area is an ideal location for hidden incisions when performing abdominal and flank liposuction.  Abdominal liposuction can address unwanted areas of fat that are more resistant to normal diet and exercise.  These areas of fat often accumulate after the 20s and progress even more so after pregnancy and childbirth.

Both men and women are good candidates for abdominal liposuction, and an examination of overall skin tone and skin texture will help determine whether you are an appropriate candidate for this specific body conturing surgery.  Unlike tummy tucks, abdominal liposuction can tighten skin and reduce fat without large incisions.  For this reason, the umbilical area is an ideal location for a well hidden scar used to perform liposuction.

The incision is placed on the underside and topside of the bellybutton and is closed with a single small stitch.  Abdominal liposuction can be performed on an outpatient basis with or without anesthesia.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a board certified plastic surgeon, an active member of the American Society of plastic surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He performs both revision liposuction and primary liposuction on the abdomen and waistline.  For other options regarding body contouring surgery, Dr. Karamanoukian can provide you with a complete consultation and discuss other options such as body lift surgery, tummy tuck surgery, ultrasonic liposuction, liposonix, and laser assisted liposuction.  Call our Los Angeles liposuction patient care coordinator at 310-998-5533 to discuss your specific options for body contouring.
