Are varicose veins and spider veins treated the same? Los Angeles Varicose Vein Surgeon

Are varicose veins and spider veins treated the same?

The management of spider and varicose veins depends on whether there is underlying venous hypertension.  Spider veins and varicose veins can be a cosmetic concern and can represent small dilated blood vessels underneath the skin.

These spider and varicose veins can be treated with the injection, laser, and thermal ablation whereas spider and varicose veins associated with underlying venous hypertension and venous insufficiency should be managed by treatment of the underlying root cause of venous disease.  This insufficiency and chronic venous disease can represent a medical condition, often covered by insurance companies in the Los Angeles area, and can be treated with combination modalities including endovenous ablation, laser ablation, and outpatient vein surgery.  Dr. Karamanoukian is a surgical director of the Santa Monica Vein Center and can help you identify whether the laser treatment. EVLT, VNUS, or vein surgery is appropriate for your condition.  Small spider veins are typically treated with laser spider vein removal.

Please call the office of Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian at 310-998-5533 and speak to one of our Los Angeles Vein patient care coordinators to schedule an appointment with Dr. Karamanoukian.
