Does the nasal tip remains swollen after rhinoplasty surgery? Los Angeles rhinoplasty surgeon

Does the nasal tip remain swollen after rhinoplasty surgery?

The nose is comprised of several anatomical subunits including the dorsal bridge, nostrils, nasal tip, and internal septum.  The patients who are undergoing rhinoplasty or septorhinoplasty should consider and discuss the recovery period expected after their rhinoplasty procedure.  Once the rhinoplasty surgery is complete, the patients will undergo a period of facial swelling and mild bruising that may last from one to three weeks after surgery.  The majority of facial swelling and nasal swelling should subside after the three week period; however, depending on the complexity of the surgery, there are may be a longer period of time before complete swelling subsides in the nasal tip and around the nostrils.  The length of time for swelling to subside depends on the severity of the original problem and the complexity of the surgery involved in rhinoplasty.

Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a Beverly Hills and Santa Monica plastic surgeon who specializes in facial cosmetic surgery and rhinoplasty.  Revision rhinoplasty surgeries may take longer for the swelling to subside.  Before and after your surgery, Dr. Karamanoukian will recommend herbal products including the Bruise Pak to maximize recovery and minimize the duration of swelling after rhinoplasty.  Los Angeles rhinoplasty patients who undergo nasal surgery with Dr. Karamanoukian can benefit by his expertise and determination to provide comprehensive and meticulous results for rhinoplasty patients.  If you are concerned about rhinoplasty surgery and wish to undergo the procedure, a consultation with Dr. Karamanoukian can be made by calling our Los Angeles cosmetic surgery patient care coordinator at 310-998-5533.
