Will my breathing problems improve after septoplasty? Septorhinoplasty surgeon in Los Angeles

Will my breathing problems improve after septoplasty?

The nose plays an instrumental role in breathing and the nasal passage allow for proper intake and expulsion of air during the breathing cycle.  The patients who have septal deviation or obstruction of their nasal passage because of a crooked septum or a broken nose, can benefit from a procedure known as septoplasty.  Septoplasty involves the removal and correction of the crooked or deviated part of the nasal septum.  Once removed, breathing is improved and the patients are allowed to breathe more normally during the daytime and at nighttime while laying flat.  Nasal obstruction is a pervasive problem that affects many people and is usually caused by previous trauma or developmental changes in the nasal cartilage during childhood or adulthood.

Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian performs septoplasty and septorhinoplasty for patients who have history of broken nose or who have deviated septum resulting from previous trauma or development.  The procedure will allow for improved breathing and for correction of the nasal passage.  If you have questions about septoplasty and wish to schedule a consultation with Dr. Karamanoukian in his Los Angeles plastic surgery office, please call our patient care coordinator at 310-998-5533.
