What are some common side effects of Restylane injections? - Kare Clinic - Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian

Restylane injections are composed of hyaluronic acid and are considered safe and temporary facial fillers for augmentation and volume enhancement of the lips, cheeks, and nasolabial folds.  Among the different types of hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane remains one of the safest and most effective volume fillers with a long safety record.  Most common complications with Restylane include mild bruising and swelling that may be more prominent within 24 hours of the procedure.  There are many different options for prevention and treatment of bruising, which Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian will explain to you during your consultation.  Dr. Karamanoukian advises patients to avoid aspirin and ibuprofen prior to Restylane injections and recommends a Bruise-Pak immediately after your injections.

If you are concerned about bruising and swelling after your Restylane procedure, there are some laser options that can minimize the bruising once it has begun to form.  Dr. Karamanoukian specializes in safe and effective volume enhancement using Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse and has been featured on the popular television show The Doctors in which he demonstrated the use of a novel laser for reduction of bruising post injury.

Dr. Karamanoukian can perform the laser treatment for bruising after your Restylane injections if there is a need.  Please all our Los Angeles plastic surgery patient care coordinator who can help you arrange a consultation and treatment with Restylane or Juvederm in Santa Monica or Beverly Hills.  Our office can be reached at 310-998-5533.
