How long will a revision rhinoplasty take to perform? - Kare Plastic Surgery - Los Angeles

How long will a revision rhinoplasty take to perform?

Revision rhinoplasty is more complex than an initial rhinoplasty procedure.  The complexity of the revision will determine the length of time that it will take to perform a revision rhinoplasty.  Many revision nose jobs require extensive surgical dissection through a scar tissue and this may necessitate a longer surgical operating time.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a double board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in facial cosmetic surgery and body contouring.  He is an expert in rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty surgery and has a dedicated website describing his techniques for rhinoplasty .   Dr. Karamanoukian performs most revision rhinoplasty surgeries as an outpatient procedure and the typical revision may take anywhere from two to four hours.  During this time, Dr. Karamanoukian will use meticulous surgical technique in order to separate the cartilaginous components of the nose from the scar tissue in order to recontour and reshape the nasal tip, nasal bridge, nostrils, and columella of the nose.

Dr. Karamanoukian is also a firm believer in cephalometric analysis of the face in order to add harmonious proportions to the nose relative to the brow, cheeks, and chin.  Cephalometric analysis is used in the preoperative setting in order to define beauty proportions of the face that will optimize the natural look of the nose and face together.  Our Los Angles plastic surgery patient care coordinator can facilitate your cosmetic surgery or revision rhinoplasty consultation.  The office can be reached at 310-998-5533.
