Can I wear a bra after my breast implant surgery? - Kare Plastic Surgery - Dr. Raffy karamanoukian

Can I wear a bra after breast implant surgery?

Breast implant surgery is a very gratifying and effective cosmetic surgery procedure performed in our Los Angeles office.  During breast implant surgery, an incision is made along the areolar or inframammary crease in order to create a surgical pocket for placement of a breast implant.  In the initial phase of recovery, Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian, a board certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, recommends the avoidance of under wired bras for at least six to eight weeks.  This prevents a complication known as a double bubble or migration of the breast implant in upward direction.  After surgery, Dr. Karamanoukian will provide you with a comfortable surgical wrap that will help the breast implant settle.  Thereafter, Dr. Karamanoukian will advise you on the proper bra support for your breast implant.  This may include a sports bra, surgical bra, or normal bra without under wires.

If you have questions about Dr. Karamanoukian’s postoperative breast augmentation protocol, please call our Los Angeles plastic surgery patient care coordinator at 310-998-5533.  Our office also performs complimentary cosmetic surgery procedures including breast lift, breast reduction, liposuction, body contouring during your breast enhancement surgery.
