Can my nostrils be reduced during rhinoplasty? Los Angeles plastic surgery

Can my nostrils be reduced during rhinoplasty?

The nostrils are an important part of a natural rhinoplasty result.  The goal of rhinoplasty is to reshape the nose to form a more attractive nasal silhouette that is more harmonious with the rest of the face.  Although there are many different types of attractive nose, the creation of an attractive nose on a particular individual depends on how natural it seams with the individual’s facial features.  Dr. Karamanoukian specializes in natural looking nose surgery including septoplasty, septorhinoplasty, and rhinoplasty.  During your consultation for rhinoplasty surgery in Los Angeles, Dr. Karamanoukian will evaluate your nasal profile from several different angles, especially the lateral and lateral oblique angles to determine the position and shape of the nostrils relative to the nasal bridge.  Nostrils can be enlarged or flared, causing them to appear more noticeable before or after rhinoplasty.

During your consultation Dr. Karamanoukian will also take measurements of your nostril profile, tip projection, and nasal bridge to determine the correct proportion inherent in a beautiful nose.  The size and shape of the nostril will determine if a procedure known as a nostril reduction can be performed.  Reduction of the nostrils is formed with an alar sill reduction towards sill reduction or nostril reduction at the nostril base.  If you have questions about rhinoplasty surgery and nostril reduction surgery, please call our Beverly Hills patient care coordinator at 310-998-5533.  Dr. Karamanoukian performs outpatient facial cosmetic surgery in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, including rhinoplasty, face lift, neck lift, neck liposuction, and eyelid lift.
