Nostril Reduction during Rhinoplasty? Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon Dr. Karamanoukian

Is there a procedure for nostril reduction during rhinoplasty?

Many patients request a procedure known as nostril reduction during their rhinoplasty.  Although nostril reduction is performed as one of the last stages during an operative rhinoplasty, the importance of nostril reduction should not be underestimated.  The shape and flaring of the nostril can determine how natural and attractive your nose looks from the anterior prospective and also the lateral, and lateral oblique angles.  Large nostrils or nostril retraction can lead to problems with the shape and contour of the nose and this remains a major concern for Dr. Karamanoukian during your rhinoplasty surgery.

During your consultation for rhinoplasty with Dr. Karamanoukian, he will examine your nasal profile from different angles to determine whether a nostril reduction should be performed during your rhinoplasty.  Nostril reduction can be performed using two different techniques that utilize meticulous attention to detail in order to minimize the shape, width, and overall dimension of the nose.  In addition Dr. Karamanoukian will perform measurements of your nasal bridge, septum, nasal tip, columella, and nasal hump to determine the corrective technique used during your rhinoplasty.  Please call our Los Angeles plastic surgery coordinator at 310-998-5533 to schedule your consultation for rhinoplasty.
