How soon after an earlobe tear can I undergo earlobe repair? Los Angeles plastic surgeon

How soon after an earlobe tear can I undergo earlobe repair?

Earlobe repairs are commonly performed for split earlobes or torn earlobes that result from acute trauma or a chronic pulling of an earlobe piercing scar.  The majority of patients will develop a complete earlobe tear as a result of long term use of heavy earrings.  In the more traumatic setting, acute tears in the earlobe can occur resulting in an earlobe laceration that has torn through the intact earlobe.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a board certified plastic surgeon in Los Angeles and has expertise in the management of earlobe tears.  He performs surgery for acute lacerations of the ear as well as long term wearing stretching of an earlobe tear.  Procedures are performed under local anesthesia and patients are able to return to normal activities the same day of surgery.  Results are often seen immediately but approximately one week is generally needed for the scars to heal completely.

If you have questions about earlobe tears and have sustained an earlobe split as a result of chronic injury or acute injury, Dr. Karamanoukian can consult with you in the early setting or late setting in order to determine whether earlobe repair is a suitable option for you.  Please schedule a consultation with our Los Angeles cosmetic surgery patient care coordinator at 310-998-5533 to schedule a comprehensive consultation for earlobe revision.
