Fractional CO2 laser for chickenpox scars - Kare Plastic Surgery Los Angeles

Can fractional CO2 laser be performed for chickenpox scars?

Chicken pox scars are often terms boxcar scars as they have a very sharp edge at the border of the scar edge.  Chicken pox can lead to deep atrophic scars of the dermis, often resulting from picking or scabbing or a chickenpox lesion.  In most cases the chicken pox scars resolves spontaneously, but on areas of the face, they may become permanent scars.  There are several options for chicken pox scars that can lead to significant improvement in the quality, texture, and size of the scars.  These scars are generally deep and can benefit from CO2 laser resurfacing in order to recontour and resurface the scars.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is an expert in scar revision using fractional CO2 laser and has expertise in the management of this condition.  In most cases there is minimal downtime with the procedure as the fractional laser can be applied directly on to the area of concern.

Our treatments for laser skin resurfacing and scar revision are available in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and the greater Los Angeles area.
