Checklist of 5 items to purchase before rhinoplasty: Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Expert

Rhinoplasty surgery is exciting and can result in a dramatic improvement in your facial contour.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a trusted expert in natural nose jobs and natural looking rhinoplasty surgery.  He is a double board certified plastic surgeon and offers rhinoplasty as an outpatient plastic surgery procedure.  As with all outpatient surgery, your surgeon should provide you with basic details of what to expect before and after rhinoplasty.  The following is a list of items you will need to purchase or secure prior to your rhinoplasty procedure:

  1. Prescriptions: Most rhinoplasty surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure.  Make sure that you receive your prescriptions before your plastic surgery and fill them right away.  Speak to your plastic surgeon and your pharmacist about any drug allergies you may have.
  2. Gauze and kleenex: You will need both of these items after your surgery in order to wipe any excess mucous or blood from the nose.  The gauze can help maintain pressure on the nostrils after surgery.
  3. Reading material: You will likely be on bed rest for 24 hours after surgery.  Dr. Karamanoukian will recommend that you ambulate frequently, but try to keep your head elevated and keep some riveting reading material handy after your rhinoplasty surgery.
  4. Ice packs or frozen vegetables wrapped in a towel: Ice packs will help keep your swelling and bruising to a minimum.
  5. Arnica and Bromelain: These two supplements help fight bruising and swelling after rhinoplasty.
