Frequently asked questions regarding rhinoplasty surgery - Kare Plastic Surgery - Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian

What are the main elements of a rhinoplasty surgery?

A rhinoplasty describes an operation performed by plastic surgeons in order to reshape and recontour the nose.  There are three portions of the nose that demand attention during a rhinoplasty.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian, a Los Angeles plastic surgeon, specializing in rhinoplasty surgery can discuss the detail of his approach in consultation.

The nose is comprised of a nasal bone, dorsal cartilage which makes up the bridge of the nose, a cartilage which makes up the nostrils that is the base of the nose.  During a rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Karamanoukian will reproportion the nasal bones, nasal bridge, and nasal tip to achieve a more harmonious contour that is more in tune with the facial structure.  This surgery may include an osteotomy, in which the nasal bridge is broken and inset in order to narrow the hump and bridge of the nose and further narrow the width of the nose.  Hence, Dr. Karamanoukian will reshape the nasal bridge in order to remove any humps along the bridge, and reshape the nasal tip cartilage in order to refine and sculpt the tip of the nose.

A rhinoplasty procedure is complicated technically as well as aesthetically, and demands meticulous attention to plastic surgery detail.  Trust your nose and rhinoplasty to Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian, a board certified plastic surgeon in Los Angeles.  Call our office at 310-998-5533 to schedule an appointment for nasal surgery and rhinoplasty.  Dr. Karamanoukian also performs septoplasty to correct a deviated nasal septum and septorhinoplasty in which a septoplasty is combined rhinoplasty.
