Los Angeles Rhinoplasty Surgery : Where are the incisions placed for an open rhinoplasty?

Where are the incisions placed for an open rhinoplasty?

Our Los Angeles plastic surgery clinic offers open and closed rhinoplasty surgery for patients who desire cosmetic or medical improvement of their nose.  An open rhinoplasty is a surgical technique to repair or correct the cosmetic appearance and medical function of the nose.  Open rhinoplasties are performed to maximize visualization of the nasal bridge and nasal cartilage in order to affect an improvement in the shape and appearance of the nose.  Unlike closed rhinoplasties, in which incisions are placed within the nostril mucosa, an open rhinoplasty requires an additional incision along the columella skin.  The incision is very much like a closed rhinoplasty with extensions along the nasal mucosa and the skin of the nasal base.  The nasal base is known as the columella and can be approached with a small incision that appears very similar to an inverted V with wing.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a proponent of open rhinoplasty and performs rhinoplasty and septoplasty in Los Angeles.  He is available for consultation for nasal surgery and advanced revision rhinoplasty by calling 310-998-5533.

If you have questions about rhinoplasty in our Los Angeles plastic surgery practice, please contact our patient care coordinator to schedule a comprehensive consultation for rhinoplasty or septorhinoplasty.  Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian can provide you with full details regarding your treatment options.  All Los Angeles rhinoplasty surgeries are performed in an accredited operating room in Santa Monica or Beverly Hills.
